Internships

Before you start vocational training or further education, it is often worth doing an internship to get to know the profession in more detail. Even though it might offer little or nothing in terms of pay, it can offer a route into the profession. Doing this can also help you to use and improve your German language skills. The faster you work and interact with people, the faster you will learn German too.

Information for Refugees in the Asylum Process

If your asylum application has been accepted, you will be able to do an internship without any problems. For refugees in the asylum process and tolerated persons, it is not so easy. Firstly, there is a waiting time of 3 months after submitting an asylum application, and then you will need a permit from the immigration authority.
